Production Team – School of Rock

Brad Fischer – Director

Brad is a graduate of Music Theatre from WAAPA. He is a Life Member of the Music Theatre Guild of Victoria and Catchment Players, was chair of the Open Panel of judges for MTGV for many years and was the co-founder of SHooSH! Productions. Brad’s production team credits include Pageant, The World Goes ‘Round (MTGV Award Best Concert), Closer Than Ever, Putting it Together (MTGV Award Best Concert), bare (MTGV Director of the Year and Production of the Year nominations) I Love You Because (MTGV Director of the Year and Production of the Year nominations), Forbidden Broadway (MTGV Award Best Concert), The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) MTGV Director of the Year and Production of the Year nominations), Falsettos, Kiss of the Spiderwoman (MTGV Director of the Year and Production of the Year nominations), Elegies for Angels, Punks and Raging Queens, Jesus Christ Superstar, The Sound of Music (MTGV Judges Award) Urinetown, The Full Monty Godspell, Music Theatre Guild Awards, Honk! Jnr (MTGV Director of the Year and Production of the Year nominations), Into The Woods Jnr, 13 (MTGV Director of the Year nomination), Hairspray, Chess, Carrie, (MTGV Director of the Year nomination), Seussical Jnr.

For PLOS Musical Productions Brad has directed their MTGV multi-nominated productions of The Phantom of the Opera and Les Misérables. Brad’s performance credits have included Adelaide Festival Productions of Marat/Sade (Marquis De Sade), Hamlet (King Claudius) and A Midsummer Nights Dream (Bottom). Melbourne performance highlights have included Anatoly in Chess, John Hinckley in Assassins, Marius in Les Misérables and Jimmy in Thoroughly Modern Millie.

 

Bev Woodford – Musical Director

Bev has over fifty years membership with PLOS Musical Productions. Starting with open auditions back at Karingal High School for Calamity Jane in 1973. Being a university-trained pianist a daunting experience.

Over the years Bev has worked in most areas of putting on a production including backstage, set painting, rehearsal pianist, orchestra member and Musical Director with companies including PLOS Musical Productions, CLOC Musical Theatre, Panorama Theatre Company, CEF Players and many local schools and groups.

Bev is a Life Member of PLOS and School of Rock marks the twentieth show she has Musically Directed for PLOS – Jesus Christ Superstar, West Side Story twice, Annie twice, Sweet Charity, My Fair Lady, La Cage Aux Folles, Joseph, Follies, A Chorus Line, Les Misérables, CATS, Me and My Girl, The Wizard of Oz, Strictly Ballroom and A Tribute To Musical Theatre Concert, many receiving MTGV nominations. She has also Musically Directed for CLOC Musical Theatre, Shout, Hot Shoe Shuffle, Dusty, High Society and 42nd Street for which she received MTGV for Musical Director of the Year.

Bev has Musically Directed the MTGV Awards night five times and was awarded the Edith Harrhy Award for outstanding service to musical theatre and is a MTGV Life Member.

Jessica Pratt

Jessica has a long association with the Arts on the Mornington Peninsula having performed with local companies as a member of ensembles and dancer. Previously Jessica has performed PLOS productions of CATS, Follies and Song Dance and a Touch of Cabaret. Jessica ran a Dance school in Mornington for many years. Jessica a teacher has travelled and lived in Dubai for many years with her husband Dean Pratt a talented trumpeter who she met during her involvement in Musical Theatre. Since returning to Australia she has become very involved in theatre and Co-Directed and Choreographed PLOS’ successful A Tribute To Musical Theatre Concert. She is also currently Directing and Choreographing her school’s production of Seussical.

 

Tahlia Sweatman

Tahlia has a long association with Music Theatre having performed with PLOS in 42nd Street, West Side Story, Sweet Charity and Jesus Christ Superstar. She has also performed with other local companies including Panorama Theatre Company where she choreographed their production of Singing In The Rain. Tahlia also runs a Dance School in Mornington and works at BAM Arts in Frankston.
